London from Hampstead Heath

£820.00

7am, running from Kensington to Parliament Hill. No real reason. Just felt like it.
This is the view that stopped me. One of my first bigger watercolours, and still one of my favourites.
If you collect London, this one’s for you.

There’s a girl with her back to us in this painting. I have no idea who she was. Just someone standing there when I arrived, taking in the same view I was about to paint.

I’d run from Kensington to Parliament Hill that morning. Half seven, no plan, just wanted to see the sunrise from up there. I’ve stood on that hill with friends, with family, more times than I can count. It’s one of those views everyone in London ends up at eventually.

This was one of the first larger watercolours I painted. Bigger paper, bigger risk. The city laid out below like it’s giving something away for free.

If you collect paintings of London, this one belongs on your wall.

Watercolour on paper, 50 x 50 cm. One of a kind.
