Description
I have always loved Barcelona, both aesthetically and on a more emotional level. I have very good friends there, and that strengthens the bond I have with the city, and also makes me want to paint it even more. I’ve been there several times and I’ve always enjoyed the city very much. When I painted this picture it was shortly after my last visit in March this year. The architecture of the city fascinates me, and there are inspirational themes in practically most of the streets. In this case, I wanted to play with the complementary colour pair of violet and yellow, creating a complementary harmony. The Mercedes in the foreground and the smaller cars on the left create a sense of perspective and introduce us into the picture.
